| Government of China donates $800,000 | The Government of China had decided to donate $800,000 to finalize the purchase and installation of the Catheterization Lab in Lhasa, Tibet. The Government of China had just made Touching Hearts the model project for International Cooperation and had paid the outstanding balance of $800,000 for the Pediatric Cardio-care Facility. They have opened every region to us, they say we can spend the money on the High Altitude Research Center, and the Foreign Affairs Department has designated Touching Hearts as the model project for international cooperation.  From this moment forward, every child (1-18) living in Tibet with congenital heart disease (the region has a 4-6% increase in congenital heart disease) will receive free heart care in this facility. It is the first and only Pediatric Cardio Center for the most at risk region of the world. |
